Clearpool, the leading protocol for institutional borrowers onchain, has integrated Coinbase’s Smart Wallet and launched on Base, unlocking seamless access to Clearpool’s leading credit marketplace.

Since the mainnet launch in 2022, the Clearpool protocol has now originated over $560 million in total loans to leading institutional borrowers such as Jane Street, Wintermute, Flow Traders, Banxa, and Portofino Technologies.

Coinbase’s Smart Wallet is a step function improvement in user experience as it lives in your browser without the need for extensions or app installs. Smart wallet allows users to interact onchain seamlessly, utilizing passkeys for signing, and maintaining security without the need for complex seed phrases. The wallet is universally compatible, with a single wallet and address working across major Layer 2 networks and onchain apps. It offers user-friendly, gasless transactions and cross-app portability, aiming to power the next version of the internet and bring over 1 billion users onchain.

The Smart Wallet integration comes after Clearpool launched on Base, an Ethereum L2 blockchain, with an open ecosystem providing secure, low-cost, builder friendly products to users onchain. Base was incubated by Coinbase and built on the open-source OP Stack.

Portofino Technologies pioneered the inaugural Credit Vault on Base, a crypto-native HFT market-making institution that uses its cutting-edge technology to reduce the frictions of buying and selling digital assets across exchange and OTC markets.

Web3 users can now access direct lending options on the Clearpool marketplace on the Base, Ethereum, and other networks. Visit the Clearpool protocol Dapp to access market-leading, risk-adjusted returns for lending stablecoins 👇
